Advice for Road Runners: The Altra Men's Experience Flow Running Shoes were previously named AltraFWD Experience. The latest edition features an updated upper, and takes position as the neutral model in Altra's Experience line up.
Underfoot Feel
The Altra Experience Flow midsole features a lightweight compression-moulded EVA foam, with a 4 mm heel to toe drop. This delivers a responsive underfoot sensation that is likely to feel most comfortable at steadier efforts.
In line with this, the midsole's prominent rocker shape geometry helps roll your feet forward more efficiently. This means the midsole feels versatile enough for some quicker efforts.
Even though the Altra Experience Flow are neutral running shoes, the broad base feels very stable.
Upper Fit
As the Experience Flow feature Altra's Standard FootShape™ Fit, they feel spacious in the toe box. This should let you splay your toes, and help you engage your big toe joint.
It's worth pointing out how light and breathable the upper fabric feels.
Ideal Run Type
As mentioned, the Altra Men's Experience Flow should feel best on steady paced runs. By this, we mean the runs that are a bit faster than your easy or recovery days.
Of course, they are suitable for slower runs too. However, they might not feel as comfortable as a softer and more forgiving alternative.

Sizing Advice
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
